A Brief Intro to Chaos
In classical mechanics, chaos refers to the dependence of initial conditions in the outcome of a deterministic system. In other words, a small change at the beginning of a timeline can cause immense changes by its end. This is what is called the Butterfly Effect. A butterfly flapping its wings in one side of the world can cause a hurricane on the other side.
What are some systems that exhibit chaos?
In physics, the most popular example of chaos is the double pendulum experiment, but in our practical life, weather predictions is a good example. Notably, stars also exhibit chaos.
What was the main goal of this research?
The goal of this research was to find if there is a relationship between the mass of a star and the amount of chaos that it exhibits during its lifetime.
